September Movie Night - Joshua: Teenager v. Superpower

JoshuaWong-600x400.jpgNothing like a movie with Mexican food and margaritas! Last night, we gathered at our favorite local meeting spot, Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant, to eat, drink, watch a movie, and have a brief discussion.

We started with an overview of last month’s successful work project, next month’s guest speaker, and various ideas for work projects in the future. Then we watched Joshua: Teenager v. Superpower, an inspiring documentary about Joshua Wong, a 14-year-old student from Hong Kong who chose to stand against the communist government of China and their decision to impose their system of "National Education" (communist propaganda) on the students of Hong Kong. Such a great example of the power of young people to stand up against Big Government to protect their homeland and their way of life.

Many thanks to Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant for their continued support of Washington County Libertarians. We are grateful for the delicious food, perfectly-made drinks, and outstanding service.

Next month’s meeting will be on Monday, October 14th at 6:30p and will feature a presentation by Steven Harris, our LPTexas Vice Chair. He will share his knowledge and experience regarding how to serve our communities by serving on local boards and commissions. See you there!

In case you missed it:

The movie Joshua: Teenager v. Superpower is available on Netflix. Take an hour and eighteen minutes and check it out—you'll be glad you did! If you have a Netflix subscription, you can watch the movie here.
